TV Time has closed: how to keep your watch history
TV Time closed in July 2026. If you saved your data before it went, years of episodes don't have to be lost. Here's what's in the export and how to move it.
What you should have
Before closing, TV Time let you download your data as a zip file of CSV files. Look in your downloads or email for it: files with names like seen_episode.csv and tracking-prod-records-v2.csv are the ones that matter. Keep the zip somewhere safe, even after you've imported it.
What to look for in a new home
- Films and series together. TV Time held both, so your new app should too.
- Dates kept. Your export says when you marked each episode. A good import keeps that date instead of putting everything on today.
- A preview before anything is saved, and a way to undo the whole import.
- Rewatches as separate watches, not one tick that can only be on or off.
- Your data stays yours: you can download it again and delete your account.
Moving to Viewary, step by step
- Create a free account at viewary.app.
- Open Profile → Settings → Import from Letterboxd or TV Time and choose the zip from TV Time (or the CSV files inside it).
- The file is read on your own device. You see every episode and film it found, matched to titles, before anything is saved.
- Import. Episodes keep the date TV Time recorded when the export has one, and nothing is given a made-up date. Changed your mind? The import can be undone.
If you didn't save your data
Then the history can't be fetched any more. The quickest way back is to mark the shows and films you remember as seen before, without dates, and log from today. Your dated statistics then start fresh and stay honest.
Viewary is a free film and TV diary made in Sweden: every watch saved with its date, ratings from 1 to 10, rewatches that count, and statistics only from what you logged. No ads, no tracking. It imports TV Time and Letterboxd exports.
